AJ Overton

AJ has been with Mary Alice's Dance Studio since the age of 3. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University at Buffalo, where she received her BFA in Dance and was a member of the Zodiaque Dance Company. After spending 2 summers as a dance captain at Six Flags Darien Lake, she moved south and spent two years dancing and singing at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, in Virginia. Following Busch Gardens, AJ moved to the Island of Guam, where she danced for Sandcastle Entertainment and had the pleasure of working with Tony Award winner Jerry Jackson. She then returned to Orchard Park and joined MADS as a full time faculty member. Over the past few years, she has had the experience of instructing at the collegiate level as an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo and St. Bonaventure University. AJ has adjudicated for numerous US and Canadian dance competitions. AJ's achievements include Teacher of the year at the Rochester Invitational. She has also been recognized for her outstanding choreography at many regional competitions. Her jazz, lyrical groups, musical theater routines and soloists have received top honors in many competitions this past year. AJ was also chosen for the Bachna Scholarship at the Dance Masters Teacher Training School at the University at Buffalo. Her classes are always high energy and strongly based on technique. Her passion for dance is evident in every class she teaches!
She is most proud of her family, which includes her husband Jason and her beautiful daughter Sawyer and adorable son Bennett.
